Profile
Eric has been a
member of Gamble Hartshorn since being admitted to practice in 2002. Eric’s practice focuses primarily on estate
planning and corporate law. Eric’s
estate planning practice generally consists of drafting advance
directives for individuals and setting up trusts to allow clients to
take advantage of the estate tax laws. Eric’s
corporate work ranges from forming limited liability companies to
dissolving corporations and all points in between. Since
joining the firm Eric has been called upon to document such corporate
transactions as mergers and acquisitions, share redemption agreements,
confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and non-competition
agreements to name a few. Eric has
also carved a niche for himself in the area of mechanic’s liens,
specifically the right of a contractor to place a lien on a public fund
when doing work on a public improvement. Eric
continues working with clients on real estate matters and has become a
licensed title agent in the State of Ohio. Eric
has worked closely with title agencies on a number of different issues
including matters concerning zoning, easements, party wall agreements,
and the formation of condominiums. Eric
also practices in the area of intellectual property and trademark law.
A highlight of his career was convincing
the Secretary of State to accept a trademark for a color pattern which
was one of the first to be recognized in the State of Ohio.
Professional
Activities
Eric is a
member of the Columbus Bar Association and a member of the Ohio State
Bar Association. Eric was sworn in and admitted practice in Ohio in
2002.
Education
Eric
received his undergraduate degree from Otterbein College in 1999 and
earned his Juris Doctorate from Capital University in 2002.
While
at Capital University, Eric was awarded the Order of Curia.
Eric
continues his education by taking classes at The Ohio State University
in pursuit of a Certified Financial Planning designation.
